Kin Park, Mathews Park ice rinks ready for use

The City of Fort St. John has announced the ice rinks at Kin Park and Mathew’s Park are ready for use, just in time for the weekend.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The City of Fort St. John has announced the ice rinks at Kin Park and Mathews Park are ready for use, just in time for the weekend.

Thanks to colder weather within the region, the leisure ice and boarded rink at Kin Park and the loop at Mathews Park are officially open.

The city asks ice users to be respectful of others, and helmets are recommended on all surfaces.

Sticks and pucks are only to be used at the boarded rinks at Kin Park.

Washroom facilities are open at both parks from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Problems can be reported by calling 3-1-1, filling out the report a problem form on the city’s website or using the Waste Wise app.

The city also mentioned skate aids are available at both parks because of a donation from Urban Systems.
