The Fort St. John Hospital and Birthing Centre welcomed the city’s first baby of 2024 on January 1st at 7:33 a.m.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Hospital and Birthing Centre welcomed the city’s first baby of 2024 on January 1st at 7:33 a.m.

Baby Tariq was born to Tamanda Allen and Curtis Barton of Fort St. John, weighing eight pounds and four ounces.

Tariq is also welcomed by older siblings Travis and Janique.

Dawson Creek’s first baby of 2024 was born at 6:30 a.m. on January 2nd at the Dawson Creek and District Hospital.

Baby Elaina was welcomed by Allie and Terry of Tumbler Ridge, weighing in at seven pounds and six ounces.

Alaina is also welcomed by older siblings Desirae, Madisin, Gaige and Remmingtin.

The first baby in the Northern Health region was born in Prince George at 1:04 a.m. on January 1st at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia.

The first baby of 2024 in B.C. was born at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.
