NRRM to write support letter for Bulterys House in Dawson Creek
The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality (NRRM) agreed to provide a letter of support to the South Peace Health Services Society for Bulterys House in Dawson Creek.

FORT NELSON, B.C. — The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality (NRRM) agreed to provide a letter of support to the South Peace Health Services Society for Bulterys House in Dawson Creek.
Chris Norbury, a councillor for the District of Tumbler Ridge and the newly elected South Peace Health Services Society president, asked the municipality for support as the society seeks funding from the Ministry of Health to continue running the house.
“We are a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers in which our goal is to aid in the recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals for the region,” Norbury explained in the letter.
One of the ways the society does this is by leasing a house from the City of Dawson Creek to serve as a house for doctors or patients to stay in while in the region, called The Bulterys House.
Norbury wrote that the society has Northern Health’s funding support through a partnership with the Dawson Creek Society for Community Living to operate the facility.
However, the current funding from Northern Health ends on March 31st, 2024.
The NRRM council agreed to supply the letter of support and recognized the importance of accommodations to access healthcare.
