Governor General’s Academic Medal awarded to North Peace Secondary School graduate

North Peace Secondary School graduate Owen Lang was awarded the 2023 Governor General’s Bronze Academic Medal last week.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — North Peace Secondary School graduate Owen Lang was awarded the 2023 Governor General’s Bronze Academic Medal last week.

On December 18th, the school presented the award on behalf of Governor General Mary Simon.

Lang graduated with an academic grade point average of 98.95 per cent and is enrolled in the integrated science program at Dalhousie University.

The Governor General’s Academic Medal, established in 1873, recognizes students who have achieved the highest academic average in their school.

Bronze is awarded at the secondary school level, collegiate bronze at the post-secondary diploma level, silver at the undergraduate level and gold at the graduate level.
