Violation ticket issued after driver runs red light, resulting in a two-vehicle collision

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John RCMP issued a violation ticket on Wednesday after a vehicle ran a red light, causing a two-vehicle collision near the Pomeroy Sport Centre.

Officers arrived on the scene and determined a vehicle headed north on 96A Street turned right onto 93rd Avenue and was struck by a vehicle headed east on 93rd Avenue.

The vehicle headed east on 93rd Avenue had run a red light at an intersection around 10 p.m.

Constable Chad Neustaeter said BC Ambulance Service assessed one of the drivers for a minor injury.

The driver who ran the red light was issued a violation ticket under the BC Motor Vehicle Act.

Neustaeter said impairment and road conditions were not believed to be factors, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
