Three businesses stolen from in first five days of December

Two Fort St. John businesses were broken into, and another had items shoplifted in the first five days of December.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Two Fort St. John businesses were broken into, and another had items shoplifted in the first five days of December.

The most recent break-in was at Prevail Athletics on December 5th at 4:52 a.m.

According to the RCMP, money was stolen, and there was damage to the property at the point of entry.

On December 5th, Lux Apparel posted on social media looking for the names of two people who were in the store on December 4th and had “helped themselves” to a few items.

According to the store’s owner, the woman in the security camera footage took the items and wore a black sweater under her shirt.

The owner said the man in the footage seemed to have just wandered around the store.

Since the social media posts, the owner said they have confirmed the names of both people.

According to police, the first break-in of the month occurred at Popoy’s Tea Bar on December 1st at 1:04 a.m. Money was stolen from the establishment.

Police say both break-ins are still being investigated, but they could not locate a report on the theft at the time of publishing.
