FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The holiday magic of The Nutcracker is coming to Fort St. John next week for six shows at the North Peace Cultural Centre.
The performance is being brought to life by Studio 2 Stage, the Alchemy Dance Collective, the Dawson Creek Dance Company, and the Stage North Theatre Society.
Studio 2 Stage Dance Academy owner and choreographer Shauna Milne said the show is their version of the traditional ballet, which includes jokes, sword fights and gift-giving.

“We have some really, really, really strong performers this year, I’m super excited,” Milne said.
Behind the scenes, the show started auditions in the middle of September, and they have been practicing since.
They’ve also been working with the Northern Dance Theatre Society and Stage North Theatre Society to get as many characters as possible in costume.
“They’ve done a wonderful job,” Milne added.
