UPDATE: Gavin Davis arrested
A large police presence was witnessed on 95th Avenue Wednesday morning as the Fort St. John RCMP received a tip about a wanted man.

UPDATE: The wanted man has since been located and arrested, according to the RCMP.
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A large police presence was witnessed on 95th Avenue Wednesday morning as the Fort St. John RCMP received a tip about a wanted man.
Police say they received information that Gavin James Lee Davis may have been at the residence and were attempting to take him into custody.

The 34-year-old is facing charges of assault, four counts of possession of a firearm without a license, two counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, theft under $5,000, three counts of breach of release order, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order and possession of the purpose of trafficking.
Davis is still wanted by the police.
Mounties describe Davis as standing five foot 11 inches tall, weighing 243 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and four tattoos.
He has “Payden” tattooed across his throat, “DAVIS” vertically on his arm, a cross with wings on his right inner forearm and “PAYDAY” on his knuckles.

The Fort St. John RCMP is asking anyone who sees Davis not to approach him but to call the nearest police detachment because he is known to carry firearms.
The local RCMP continues to investigate and asks anyone with information about Davis’ whereabouts to contact the Fort St. John detachment at 250-787-8100.
