DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Duncan Malkinson, executive director of the Dawson Creek and District Chamber of Commerce, is stepping down in the near future.

In last week’s press release announcing the leadership change, chamber president Heather Kohler said Malkinson would be leaving after a “pending transitional period.” However, the exact date of his exit is unknown.

Stewart Forrest was appointed as the new executive director, and his onboarding process has begun.

“Stewart’s skills and experience align well with our vision for the chamber,” Kohler said.

“We are excited about the value that he will bring to the membership. We look forward to his contributions and are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”

It is unknown why the chamber decided to make a change in leadership. Energeticcity.ca reached out for more information but did not receive a reply by the time of publication.

The chamber also extended their heartfelt appreciation to Malkinson.

“Duncan’s unwavering dedication, strategic leadership and tireless commitment have greatly contributed to the chamber’s success during his brief tenure,” said Kohler.

“We are immensely grateful for his service and wish him continued success in his future endeavours.”

Malkinson assumed the role of executive director in January 2023.
