Fort St. John convenience store robber arrested
The Fort St. John RCMP have arrested a suspect in connection to a robbery at Winks convenience store on Friday.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John RCMP have arrested a suspect in connection to a robbery at Winks convenience store on Friday.
According to Constable Chad Neustaeter with the Fort St. John RCMP, on November 10th, at 4:39 p.m., local officers received a report of a robbery in progress at Winks convenience store located on 86th Street and 93rd Avenue.
After attending the scene, frontline officers determined a single male suspect had approached staff with a firearm and demanded cash.

Neustaeter said the suspect was given a small amount of cash before he left the scene.
Officers could not locate the suspect, but video surveillance was obtained before police cleared the scene.
Neustaeter said the Fort St. John RCMP received an unrelated report of a man matching the robbery suspect’s description on November 12th at 8:24 p.m.

The man was found to have multiple endorsed and unendorsed warrants.
Local officers attended the man’s residence and arrested him on outstanding warrants and for the robbery after officers found that he matched the suspect’s description.
The man was transported to the Fort St. John RCMP detachment, where he remained in police custody until November 16th, when he reappeared in court.
Charges recommended include robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent, as well as multiple other firearm-related charges.
