UPDATE: Collision closes Alaska Highway between Charlie Lake and Fort St. John

The Alaska Highway is closed due to a collision between Fort St. John and Charlie Lake.

UPDATE #2 – As of 8:30 a.m. Friday the highway is open in both directions. The RCMP have confirmed that a pedestrian was killed while crossing the highway. We will have more on this story shortly.

UPDATE – The highway will remain closed until at least 9 a.m. Friday.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Alaska Highway is closed due to a collision between Fort St. John and Charlie Lake.

Highway 97 is closed in both directions between the 269 road and the 271 road.

The highway is expected to be closed until 9 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2023.

Currently, the RCMP has not released any official details about the collision.
