Mason-Bennett said the club is made up of a strong volunteer base of coaches and staff who dedicate countless hours of their time to the sport each week, which they receive no payment for.

During Speed Skating Week, the Elks will invite the community to celebrate and bring awareness to the sport.

On November 13th, the Elks will host a Skate with an Olympian event featuring Fort St. John speed skater Denny Morrison. Then, on November 15th, the club will celebrate its volunteers with an appreciation night.
