Knappett Industries awarded tender for regrading near Bouffioux Coulee lift station
Knappett Industries has been awarded the contract to regrade the Bouffioux Coulee slopes near the city’s former lift station.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Fort St. John council has awarded Knappett Industries the contract to regrade the Bouffioux Coulee slopes adjacent to the city’s decommissioned sewage lift station and remove the building’s foundation.
The city stated that this is a vital project in order to reduce the risk to city infrastructure.
The Best Value Procurement-based tender opened on August 3rd and closed on August 23rd, with bids from five different companies.
The Nanaimo and Fort St. John-based Knappett Industries was awarded the contract for $1,448,146 based on planning ability, cost, experience and risk management.
The tendering process was started after the upper slopes of the Bouffioux Coulee had shown signs of instability and erosion for many years.
The city says that if nothing is done, the erosion will affect critical city infrastructure like the South Sewage Lift Station and the asphalt parking lot, which has already been partially undermined.
