FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation’s 2023 Be an Angel Campaign launched on Tuesday and will continue through October and November.

The Be an Angel campaign invites the community to participate in various activities and events, including the Be an Angel Mailout, the Angel Tree, the Be an Angel Gala and the Light a Moose Radiothon, to raise money for the hospital foundation.

Community supporters will receive the annual mailout from the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation at the beginning of October.

The mailout allows donors to contribute in memory or honour of someone, accompanied by a paper angel ornament. The ornaments will be displayed on the Angel Tree at the Totem Mall from November 13th until the new year.

The annual Be an Angel Gala has a 1920s theme this year and will be held on November 4th at the Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre.

The event will include live entertainment, auctions, the Janet Taylor Award and the “I Remember” Quilt for remembering loved ones.

The local hospital foundation partners with Moose FM each year for the Light a Moose Radiothon. This year, it is scheduled for November 15th to 17th and will be broadcast live on location from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the parking lot of Chances Casino.

Funds raised through the radiothon will be allocated to purchase a Phillips Epiq Elite Ultrasound machine for the Fort St. John Hospital’s medical imaging department.

Last year’s Light a Moose radiothon raised $153,763.50 and passed the $1 million milestone.

The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation’s goal is to raise $350,000 throughout the entire campaign, which would make it the largest annual healthcare support initiative in Fort St. John.
