Leanne Esau, athletics manager for Engage Sport North on behalf of NLC, says the rodeo plays an important role in creating long-lasting rodeo culture in Canada.

“Students want to go to Texas, New Mexico, or Wyoming for rodeo college there,” said Esau.

“Canadian teams are growing, and it’s great to be able to attract them and keep them north of the border after high school rodeo. They can still rodeo but at the Canadian college level.”
