DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Dawson Creek RCMP responded to an accidental shooting earlier this week that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers received a report of an accidental shooting at the Corlane Sporting Goods parking lot shortly after 3 p.m. on Monday.

One person was sitting in a vehicle when the firearm was accidentally discharged, hitting someone outside of the vehicle.

According to Sergeant Shawn Peddle, the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Peddle says both persons involved knew each other and there is no threat to the public.
