A black bear was spotted in the Energetic City on Thursday, seemingly making its way across town.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A black bear was spotted in the Energetic City on Thursday, seemingly making its way across town.

According to Facebook posts, the bear’s initial sighting was near the Fish Creek Community Forest just before noon and has been spotted in multiple places across the city since then.

At 12:30 p.m., the bear was spotted near Super 8 and Subway at the other end of town.

Most recently, at about 1:30 p.m., the black bear was seen in a tree near Subway.

Facebook users have said the BC Conservation Officers Service (BCCOS) has been contacted about the wild animal.

Energeticcity.ca has contacted the BCCOS, City of Fort St. John and the local RCMP for more information.
