DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The North Central Local Government Association’s new board of directors was selected at its 68th annual general meeting in early May.
The meeting and convention took place in Dawson Creek from May 9th to 12th, featuring the passing of all resolutions presented, the creation of bylaws and updates to the association’s constitution.
Some of the 31 resolutions passed include the following issues: Ministry of Health Communication, Rural Health Care Provider Crisis, Health Authorities Performance Review, and vaccine mandate for Healthcare Workers.

The association’s new board includes Tony Zabinsky, a councillor for the City of Fort St. John, and Lorraine Gerwing, a councillor for the Northern Rockies Regional District.
The appointed regional representative for the Peace River Regional District has been left vacant.

The NCLGA represents over 240 elected officials in over 39 local governments, from 100 Mile House to the Yukon border and from Haida Gwaii to Alberta. The association was established in 1955 as an advocacy body for local government officials in North Central British Columbia.
