UPDATE: The fire is now listed as under control at three hectares.

TAYLOR, B.C. — A wildfire sparked Thursday afternoon north of the Kiskatinaw River Bridge.

According to BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), the fire was discovered just before 2 p.m. on Thursday and was out of control at approximately three hectares.

BCWS says the fire was displaying lower-rank activity but had the possibility for the fire to move to a forested area.

Seven firefighters were attending the fire on Thursday. The fire is suspected to be human-caused.
