FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The RBC branch in Fort St. John closed down this week after a fire was sparked in its ATM area.

The extent of the damage and what started the fire is currently unknown.

The branch closed down on Monday. The fire was started and extinguished Sunday evening.

RBC said the branch will reopen once an investigation and repair work is completed.

Energeticcity.ca reached out to the local police detachment but was unable to receive a comment by publication time.

RBC sent out an email to customers informing them of the closure this week.

Those needing to access an RBC ATM are asked to head to Petro Canada at 11724 Alaska Avenue or inside the Totem Mall at 9600 93rd Avenue. The closest full service branch is in Dawson Creek.

Anyone needing to chat with an RBC representative is asked to call 1‑800‑769‑2511 or use the company’s online booking tool to arrange a phone call with an advisor.
