FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The City of Fort St. John proclaimed May 19th as Wear Your Lifejacket at Work Day at a council meeting on Monday.

Wear Your Lifejacket at Work Day is meant to promote the importance of wearing a lifejacket when on the water rather than keeping it close by on the boat.

More than 160 Canadians drown while boating each year, with 90 per cent of them not wearing lifejackets properly, according to the Canadian Red Cross.
