CHETWYND, B.C. — The District of Chetwynd announced it will not accept burn permit requests until further notice.

According to fire chief Dan Golob, the decision, effective immediately, is due to the warm weather and dry conditions.

Backyard fires that measure .5 metres by .5 metres or less are still permitted in the District Fire Protection area.
