Police dog aids in capture of wanted sex offender

A 22-year-old man, who was wanted on multiple charges, including possession of child pornography, was caught earlier this week with the help of a police dog.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A 22-year-old man, who was wanted on multiple charges, including possession of child pornography, was caught earlier this week with the help of a police dog.

On April 20th, 2023, the Fort St. John RCMP asked for assistance locating Anthony Collins, who was wanted for sexual assault, sexual interference, making or publishing child pornography, possessing child pornography and breach of release order.

Collins was reported to be at a residence in Dawson Creek on April 25th. Dawson Creek police attended the scene, and he fled from police.

With the assistance of Police Service Dog, Hamer, Collins was located and arrested.

Police say he is being held for court.
