Highway 97 incident results in non-life threatening injuries

A section of Highway 97 south of Chetwynd was closed Monday night due to a collision between a semi and a pickup truck, with non-life-threatening injuries reported.

CHETWYND, B.C. — A section of Highway 97 south of Chetwynd was closed Monday night due to a collision between a semi and a pickup truck.

The collision closed down Highway 97 in the Hasler Flat area just before 10 p.m. on April 17th due to the vehicles blocking the road.

The pickup truck driver received non-life-threatening injuries and was taken for medical treatment. The driver of the semi received no injuries.

The highway was closed for approximately an hour before reopening shortly after 11 p.m., according to DriveBC.
