Firefighters Charitable Society benefitting from Doughnation Day

A local business is raising funds for the Fort St. John Firefighters Charitable Society.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A local business is raising funds for the Fort St. John Firefighters Charitable Society.

Cobs Bread in Fort St. John is hosting its 3rd annual Doughnation Day on April 1st, 2023. Throughout the day, $2 from every six-pack of hot cross buns will be donated to the society.

Separate donations are also being collected for the society in-store throughout March. Cobs Bread will also match all online donations up to $10,000.

The Fort St. John Firefighters Charitable Society is a volunteer organization dedicated to raising money for the city to support those faced with costly medical travel.

The society also supports burn survivors through the British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters’ Association Burn fund.

It is run by 27 Fort St. John Professional Fire Fighters Association members that have served the city and area for over 45 years.

All Cobs Bread stores nationwide will donate to a local charity throughout the month to reach the goal of over $375,000 in donations for organizations across Canada.

Cobs Bread is located at 9317 96th Street and will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Doughnation Day, Saturday, April 1st.
