Over 1k boxes packed locally for Operation Christmas

Residents in Fort St. John and Prespatou donated enough items to pack 1,452 boxes for children during Operation Christmas 2022.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Residents in Fort St. John and Prespatou donated enough items to pack 1,452 boxes for children across the globe during Operation Christmas 2022. 

The 1,452 boxes of gifts, school supplies, and hygiene products joined the 415,072 boxes packed by Canadians in 2022 for children in Ukraine, the Philippines, Central America, and western Africa. 

This number increased from 2021 when Fort St. John and Prespatou residents packed 1,224 boxes.

Operation Christmas Child is an annual campaign that sees the Samaritan’s Purse Canada, together with individuals and community groups, put together shoeboxes of gifts, school supplies, and hygiene products for children in need worldwide. 

Since beginning in 1993, Operation Christmas has collected over 200 million boxes for children around the world. 
Residents can pack boxes year-round through the Operation Christmas website.
