Huskies hit 30-game milestone

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Huskies have hit a major milestone in the season by turning their recording-breaking 29-game win streak into 30 after defeating the Beaverlodge Blades 7-2 Wednesday night. 

Wednesday night marked the Huskies’ first of three final regular season home games at the North Peace Arena. 

Jackson MacDonald earned himself the star of the game by scoring his first-ever hat trick for the Huskies, with two of his three goals scored on the powerplay.

Kurtis Lee also left the game with two goals and two assists. Lee currently leads the North West Junior Hockey League with 29 goals, 40 assists, and 69 points total. 

The Junior B team will hit the road for two games away this weekend. 

The Huskies will take on the Grande Prairie Wheat Kings on Friday, before facing off against the Dawson Creek Kodiaks on Saturday.

The puck drops for both games at 8:00 p.m. and can be live-streamed on HockeyTV.
