Five local hockey players attend BC Hockey U18 Female Program of Excellence
PENTICTON, BC- Five former Northeast BC Predators players represented the region well in Penticton last weekend.
Maria Ayre (Fort St. John), Hailey Armstrong (Dawson Creek), Staysha Hiebert (Cecil Lake), Makena Lloyd-Howe (Tumbler Ridge) and Kasey Ditner (Baldonnel) all hope to lock in a position on Team BC.
According to their former team, the girls put on an exceptional performance.
The girls were among the top 68 selected across BC to attend the camp, initially established to select and train athletes for representation at provincial, national and international events.
Team BC will host a camp later this year for its shortlisted athletes .
Another former Predators alumni, Molly Hamilton, made Team Alberta’s shortlist and will be headed to the provincial team’s camp in the fall.
