North Peace Potters’ Guild’s annual Chili Bowl Bash is back

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The North Peace Potters’ Guild (NPPG) is holding their annual Chili Bowl Bash on June 18th, and they’re looking for cooks for the chili-making competition.

Anyone with a great chili recipe is asked to put their name forward by May 20th, and selected cooks will be contacted the following day.

Each year up to eight cooks participate and put their best chili recipes forward for attendees to vote on.

“The cooks have such a great time participating – it’s a really friendly competition in the kitchen and the public has great fun picking their favourite recipe,” said Barb Wagner, event coordinator.

The Chili Bowl Bash is an annual fundraiser event for the pottery studio where attendees get to pick out a handmade chili bowl from the ones made by studio members and eat some chili.

The event will also include dessert, a silent auction, live music and a piñata.

Tickets will be on sale on May 24th for $35 each, and they will be available for purchase on Saturdays (or by appointment) at the pottery studio located in the Arts Post at 10320 94th avenue.

For ticket sales, sponsorship, or to participate as a cook, email the event planners at [email protected] or check out the Potters’ Guild Facebook page.
