Dawson Creek RCMP investigating suspicious death

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Dawson Creek RCMP has launched an investigation into the death of a Dawson Creek man.

Police say that on May 3rd, 2022, at approximately 5:55 a.m., local RCMP were called to an apartment building near 8th street and Watson Crescent for a report of a male in medical distress.

The man was transported to the hospital but didn’t survive, RCMP said in a release.

The detachment has begun a suspicious death investigation but says that it appears to be an isolated incident and adds that they don’t have reason to believe there is a public safety concern.

Police would like to speak with anyone that may have noted suspicious activity near the location on May 3rd between 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. or anyone that may have video cameras in the area and have not yet been in contact with the police.

Residents that have any information which may assist this investigation are asked to call the detachment at 250-784-3700
