FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Fort St. John City council has awarded the 2022 Capital Roadworks Project tender to S. Young Enterprises out of Fort St. John.

The tender came in at under $3,000,000 and includes the installation of storm sewers, streetlights, sidewalks, water mains and sanitary sewer services.

Two other Fort St. John companies bid on the project.

Terus Construction’s bid was over $3,000,000, while Knappett Industries’ bid was over $5,000,000.

Two Alberta-based construction companies also submitted bids.

The budget for the project is $4,720,000 and is expected to be completed within the budget.

Additionally, the city needed to purchase PVC pipe before the tendering, so a separate request and a purchase order were issued for the PVC pipe for capital roadworks and other projects.

There will be some road closures and water turn-offs to allow for the installation of these services.
