FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Peace River Regional District will host a virtual open house to allow resident feedback on B.C. Hydro’s application to extract aggregate material and topsoil from Wilder Creek.

B.C. Hydro seeks to excavate the area and use it as a shallow water fish habitat to help mitigate impacts to fish from the Site C reservoir.

The PRRD says 7 hectares of the extraction area is within the Agricultural Land Reserve.

Hydro says the stockpile of excavated material will be placed on lands adjacent to the excavation and will be available for agricultural use following the project.

The meeting will be held on March 14th via Zoom at 6 p.m.
