Dave’s No Frills named 2021 Inclusive Workplace of the Year

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Dave’s No Frills was named Dawson Creek’s most Inclusive Business of the Year for the 2021 community awards, nominated by the Dawson Creek Society for Community Living.

Owner Dave Krane says he’s grateful for the hardworking staff he has and that it’s been a great pleasure to hire people from all walks of life, crediting the partnership the store has with Dawson Creek Secondary to hire students with disabilities or spectrum disorders.

“It’s an honour to be nominated for it, we didn’t know we were nominated for it. It’s really an icing on the cake situation,” said Krane. “We’ve always taken pride in our staff being representative of what the community is, and all the different diversities that are part of that.”

He added the program was originally intended to be short-term, but grew into a continuing partnership.
