Fort St. John has a plethora of flavours to choose from when it comes to restaurants. There are so many options that deciding which one to order from can be overwhelming.

But don’t worry! We’ve listed some of our favourite restaurants which we hope will become some of your favourites too.

We’ve also received recommendations from some of the restaurants themselves, so you know which dish is a must-try!


Indian Essence Bistro

Located on 100th St., this bistro boasts an extensive menu of meat and vegetarian dishes, including curry, tandoori grill sizzlers, pakora, and samosas.  You can order takeout and also have the option of choosing your spice level on many dishes from 1 (mild) to 5 (spicy).  Having gained experience working in some of India’s 5- Star hotels, Chef Balram Bali is sure to tantalize your tastebuds!

Indian Essence recommends their Coconut Chicken. Enjoy boneless chicken cooked in coconut milk and curry sauce. Try it at a level 5 if you dare!

Olive Tree Mediterranean Grill

This restaurant has some of the best Mediterranean food in the Peace! Choose from donairs, salads, and traditional Mediterranean plates. Fully-licensed and offering gluten-free and vegetarian options, this Grill’s goal is to provide customers with a tasty and healthy eating experience.

We reached out to Olive Tree Mediterranean Grill and are awaiting a response regarding which dish they’d recommend.

Offering an authentic Vietnamese dining experience in the heart of Fort St. John, this restaurant offers “delicious cuisine created with the ingenuity and passion inspired by the fantastic flavours of South Asia itself.”

Chef Bong Tran and Executive Chef Hue (Anna) aim to improve your favourite Vietnamese dishes in new and creative ways with a traditional flair.

Pho A Pho recommends you try their Special Beef Rice Noodle Soup which includes sliced beef, brisket, tendon, tripe, and beef balls.

If you’re looking for an authentic Japanese dining experience, look no further than Q – Spot. This restaurant offers 70 flavours of sushi and a wide selection of nigiri, sashimi, udon, and more! All are freshly prepared and affordable.

Q-Spot recommends you try their Volcano Roll, which includes eight pieces of California roll with a mixture of diced fresh tuna & salmon, tobiko, sesame seed, green onions, all topped with spicy mayo.
