HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. – The Hudson’s Hope Library and the New Horizons building have been temporarily closed as a safety precaution.
In a post on Facebook, the District of Hudson’s Hope says BC Hydro discovered a small slide along the bank behind the library on Sunday, September 26th. BC Hydro says “the slide is being undermined by a natural spring.”
A geotechnical engineer is on-site and is working to stabilize the area, and as a precaution, BC Hydro advised the temporary shutdown of the Library and New Horizons building.
“We will make every effort and coordinate with BC Hydro to expedite this work to minimize the length of the shutdown,” reads a release.
A representative from BC Hydro could not immediately be reached for comment.
