FSJ Hospital Foundation receive $5K donation in honour of donors wife

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Micheal Smith recently donated $5,091 to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation in honour of his wife, Patricia.

After a five-year battle with cancer, Patricia passed away in February.

The couple called the Peace region home for 40 years, where they raised three children, before recently retiring and moving to Vancouver Island.

“With such fond memories of the Fort St. John community, and having their family, friends, and former students still in the area, it was important to Patricia and Mike that this generous gift supports the care of cancer patients who rely on the services provided at the Fort St John Hospital,” said an FSJ Hospital Foundation release.

Patricia’s memory lives on through her family, which includes 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

“Patricia’s donation was a gift of securities in loving memory, designated to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundations Cancer Diagnostic and Care Fund.”
