FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – There has been an increase in COVID-19 cases related to the current Site C outbreak, according to Northern Health.

The health authority says there have been 62 lab-confirmed cases, and 19 of the cases are considered active. The clusters are primarily amongst unvaccinated workers.

The outbreak was declared on August 16th, with 41 cases being lab-confirmed. Further infection control measures were implemented once the outbreak was discovered.

Medical health offices determined there was no need for closure orders for the overall project or individual project worksites.

There are currently 1,577 in camp and 62 workers in isolation.
