FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. –  Northern Health has issued a third update regarding the COVID-19 outbreak at the Site C project.

According to a release from NH, after ongoing monitoring and testing, there are now 46 lab-confirmed cases associated with the outbreak, an increase of seven since the last update on May 12th.

There are three cases of COVID-19 associated with the outbreak currently active.

Workers are still being screened and contact tracing is still continuing. Confirmed cases and their close contacts are self-isolating says Northern Health.

Enhanced outbreak measures are in place, including:

Northern Health Health Officers, Site C and its contractors, and WorkSafeBC continue to work closely in response to the outbreak and are monitoring the situation for any future clusters.

As of May 21st, there are 1,510 in camp at Site C with 19 in isolation at camp, 17 in isolation at home, and five active COVID-19 cases.

Since March 1, 2020, there have been 110 confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Site C.
