VICTORIA, B.C – Licensed hunters must have their B.C. 2021 Limited Entry Hunting Draw applications submitted by May 28th.

Successful LEH applicants will receive their authorization online through their Fish and Wildlife profile as it’s no longer mailed out.

The province reminds applicants that due to the unknowns surrounding COVID-19, there’s a possibility that the province implements restrictive health orders and/or recommendations that limit travel and access to hunts. If you can’t participate in a hunt due to restrictions, a refund will not be provided.

Draws are random. The previous year’s odds are in the LEH Synopsis beside each hunt to indicate the likelihood of a successful application, but this is not a guarantee of success.

Successful applicants will have their chances reduced in future draws to improve the odds for unsuccessful hunters.

Hunters will need a Fish and Wildlife ID (FWID) to buy hunting licences or submit LEH applications. The FWID is a permanent number linked to personal Fish and Wildlife online profiles and contains details about credentials, licences, LEH applications and authorizations.

“Limited entry hunting gives wildlife managers the ability to more closely control the number of hunters that can hunt a species, or class of species, in a specific area and during a specific time, and is generally in place when additional control, beyond what is feasible through a GOS, is required,” says the province.

All hunters 16 years of age and older must carry a government picture ID, know their FWID and carry all of their species licences while hunting.
