DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves volleyball team added Madison Chabot from the Dawson Creek Volleyball Club, making her the fourth player to be recruited.
According to a release, Chabot is excited to take the next step academically and athletically, and she’s eager to do it all close to home.
“I chose GPRC because it is close to home and allows me to keep playing the sport I love,” says Chabot. “GPRC offers a great opportunity and stepping stone to get into a university and complete half my degree at GPRC.”
Wolves head coach Lauren Hale-Miller has been busy recruiting players from the Dawson Creek Volleyball Club, even though they didn’t compete in a regular season. She added Layla Hingley, Gabby Capelle, and Aidan Armitage to go along with Chabot.
“I am thrilled that Maddie will be joining us in the upcoming season,” says Hale-Miller. “Maddie is an extremely hard worker and is determined to bring herself and her teammates to success. Maddie moves the ball around well, which will only strengthen our defensive play.”
Chabot brings plenty of accomplishments into her rookie season with the Wolves. She won gold in the 2018 Alberta Winter Games and another gold at 2019 Divison 1 Tier 3 Nationals.
Looking ahead to next season, Chabot is eager to learn.
“I am looking forward to practising with the team and becoming a reliable teammate and friend to the girls. I am most excited for the opportunity to become a better player and learn new things about the game.”
