DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The Peace River Regional District has heard back from Rob Fleming, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, regarding the safety of Braden Road.
In January, the PRRD decided to send a letter to the Minister suggesting the stop signs at the intersection of Braden Road and the Alaska Highway get flashing lights and installing rumble strips.
The intersection is known to be treacherous, with multiple accidents taking place there. One of them in November resulted in a death.
Fleming responded to the PRRD letter with his own, saying, “with any serious crash on our roads, the ministry will complete a comprehensive engineering review of the location, including its collision history and site conditions, to determine what safety improvements may be needed.”
According to Fleming, he has shared the request with staff, who will be reviewing it.
