OTTAWA, ONT. – Canada Post has announced they’re adjusting their holiday parcel shipping deadlines to meet the needs of the current demand.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has affected how many Canadians will be spending their holidays. Canada Post says it has been working tirelessly to respond to the current influx of demands regarding shipping gifts and other items.

According to Canada Post, customers are shopping online in record numbers for gifts and other items and heading to post offices across the country to send their gifts instead of traditional holiday visits.

Canada Post has added more than 4,000 seasonal employees and increased its fleet by more than 1,000 vehicles to meet the current demand. According to Canada Post, they delivered around 1.1 million parcels across the country this weekend alone.

Canada Post recommends that if you haven’t shipped your packages yet, or ordered them online, to do so as soon as possible this week. They also suggest tracking your package and be prepared for any delays that may take place.
