DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – A GoFundMe account has been set up in memory of a Dawson Creek man who was killed recently in an avalanche north of Mackenzie.

On Saturday, November 28, just before 2:00 p.m., Mackenize RCMP received a report of an avalanche in the Powder King / Bijoux Falls area north of Mackenzie where one of two snowmobilers was buried in the snow.

After an extensive search, 35-year-old Sean McGarry was located deceased.

McGarry leaves behind his wife Nicole, who is pregnant with their second child, and their 3-year-old son, Maverick.

The funds raised will go to help support the family during this difficult time and to set up an education fund for the children.

The goal for the GoFundMe is $5,000.
