FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Landmark Cinemas have closed locations across the province, including locations here in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek, today, after Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry’s new regulations announced last week.

According to Landmark Cinemas CEO Bill Walker, all part-time staff will be laid-off because of the mandated closure as no work is available. Full-time staff will still be able to work to prepare for when the cinemas can re-open.

If Landmark plans to reopen as soon as restrictions are lifted, Walker says that all depends on what movies will be coming out, the availability of the content and whether it’s justified. He also says he’s disappointed that Landmark had to close locations and could not stay open like restaurants, but did add that concessions are open at locations for delivery of popcorn and other goodies.

Walker did say that he was proud of the staff at Landmark and wants to thank them for all their hard work during previous shut-downs.

If you have purchased tickets to a movie, you can refund them under the FAQ page on the Landmark Cinema website.  There it will walk you through how to go about refunding them based on the tickets you purchased.
