GRANDE PRAIRIE, AB. – The Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) has reported they have seized weapons and laid charges after locating a male who was wanted on outstanding charges.
The RCMP CRU and Alberta Sheriffs Safe City and Neighbourhoods Unit received information from the public concerning a residence in the Highland Park area. On September 24, 2020, police followed up on complaints and attended the residence looking to locate a male known to have warrants for his arrest.
With assistance from the RCMP General Duty and Police Dog service, the male was located and arrested in the residence’s backyard after trying to flee over the fence.
Once arrested, a subsequent search warrant on the residence was completed, where police located and seized the following items:
Shawn Arsenault, 22, of Grande Prairie, has been charged with the following:
Arsenault is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on November 23, 2020.
