DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Dawson Creek RCMP have reported that on November 16th around 6:22 pm, they were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 97S and Braden Road.
After an investigation, it was determined that a vehicle travelling southbound on Braden Road failed to come to a stop before entering the highway, which resulted in a collision with two other vehicles.
The roads were snow-covered and slippery at the time as the region had just ended a snow-fall warning. The accident left one of the drivers with serious and life-threatening injuries which resulted in the driver being air-lifted to Vancouver for urgent treatment.
Dawson Creek RCMP are reminding drivers to drive with care during winter driving conditions. With the arrival of winter, it requires divers to slow their speed for road and weather conditions. Give yourself additional time to drive to your location, ensure your tires have sufficient tread and are rated for driving in the snow, always wear your seatbelt and drive defensively.
In heavy snowfall conditions, if you do not have to be on the road, stay home. If need be, wait until the snowfall has ended and the roads have been cleared.
