FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – This Saturday, November 14, the Fort St. John Multicultural Society will be holding the second public Diwali Celebration at the Home2 Suites by Hilton.
According to the MultiCultural Society, this year’s celebration will be different from the first public Diwali Celebration held last year. The 2020 celebration is the pandemic version.
Simple Diwali decors will be open to four people at a time starting at 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Home2 Suites’ lobby. Social distancing and mask are requested.

Diwali is the biggest annual celebration in India. Navjot Kaur, one of the volunteers helping make this celebration happen, says that Diwali is like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year celebration all rolled into one.
India’s flag will be raised below the Canadian Flag at the hotel at 6:00 p.m. and the Diwali Celebration live stream will immediately follow. The live stream can be watched on the FSJ Multicultural Society’s Facebook page.
