FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – This year’s Remembrance Day ceremony in Fort St. John will be looking a bit different.
In previous years, all residents could attend an indoor Remembrance Day ceremony at the Legion, but according to City Staff, this year’s ceremony will be by invite-only and will be live-streamed as a way to keep in-line with COVID-19 safety protocols. The live-stream will be made available through the City’s Facebook page, along with the City’s YouTube channel, and the Legion’s Facebook page.
According to City Staff, there will also be no parade or service at the outdoor cenotaph.
While the Remembrance Day service has changed, the City reminds residents to wear a poppy and take a moment of silence at 11:00 a.m. as a way to honour those who have and continue to serve our country.
