FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Incumbent Dan Davies, of the B.C. Liberal Party, has been declared as the next MLA for Peace River North, according to the initial results of the 2020 Provincial General Election.
This is Davies’ second term as MLA for Peace River North.
As of 10:18 p.m., October 24, Davies was able to win the initial votes with 3,276 votes ( 55.38 percent), while Trevor Bolin, of the B.C. Conservative Party, came in second with 2,130 votes ( 36.00 percent), and Danielle Monroe, of the NDP, in third with 510 votes ( 8.62 percent).
These results were based on 52 of 72 ballot boxes reported, as of 10:18 p.m Saturday, October 24.
In a post on Facebook, Bolin sent his congratulations to Davies on his re-election victory.
“Congrats to Dan Davies in Peace River North on your win.”
Final votes may not be known until 13 days following the election day due to delays from mail-in and absentee ballots.
