Shell still confident in LNG Canada despite recent outcomes with other projects

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – According to an article by Bloomberg, Shell is still confident in its LNG Canada project in Kitimat.

LNG Canada is also a partnership with Mitsubishi Corp., PetroChina Co. and Korea Gas Corp. A final investment decision is still looming.

Shell says they are hopeful for a final investment decision in the next 18 months.

Shell’s Chief Executive Officer Ben Van Beurden said that he believes they can succeed if the timing of the project is right.

The news comes after Pacific NorthWest LNG was cancelled recently after the company said the project wasn’t sustainable economically.
